Hello again, Interwebs! It has been a while since we last spoke. My last post was on June 8, 2017. I planned to take a few months off, do some traveling, and get right back to scouring the area for epicurean eats at blue-collar prices! However, to quote Abe Froman, The Sausage King of Chicago, “Life moves pretty fast!”

In 2018, this Blue Collar Foodie and his wife, Kat, whom you may remember as my editor/sous chef/travel companion, added a new addition to our family. Instead of searching for foie gras, we were elbow-deep in a different kind of Pate, if you know what I mean. That’s a poop joke, people. I am a parent now, and I make them all the time.
Then, just when I thought I could make a comeback that would make Phillip Rivers impressed, the Pandemic struck down my dreams! After the chaos of Covid, a reboot seemed highly unlikely.

However, one day not so long ago, I was reminiscing about the good old days of the Blue Collar Foodie with Kat while we were in earshot of my son Daniel, AKA Moon. Daniel seemed to be interested in our gourmand galivanting. I changed the direction of my nostalgic musings towards his ear holes, and much to my surprise, he didn’t lose interest in the first 30 seconds of my diatribe. To the contrary, he asked questions enthusiastically and appeared enthralled by the answers.

Our conversation transformed into a brainstorming session, which led to a plan. A plan for not a reboot, but a sequel to a part of my life I thought was long dead. Daniel and I decided we would travel the area in search of restaurants that are both kid-friendly and deliver adult-approved fare. After our visit, Daniel and I will rate the restaurant independently and then post our findings to all of you wonderful people! He ever wrote his own About Me Section!

This post was created to welcome you all to the newest version of this Blog, The Blue Collar Foodie and Moon. Where we ask the question… CAN IT KID?
